A new publication in Nature Geosciences about earthquake deformation and coastal uplift in northen Chile using TerraceM mapping methods in rasas or reoccupied marine terraces coupled with a landscape evolution model. This paper proposes an new perspective of accumulation of permanent deformation in the upper crust through supercycle deep events. Codes and GUI will be avaliable soon.

Mapping marine terraces in Central Chile

TerraceM has been used to map marine terraces along the coast of Central Chile (600 km) using LiDAR topography, determining patterns of surface deformation such as long wavelenght deformation associated to deep sources such as the interplate, and short wavelenght patterns associated to shallow sources such as faults located in the upper plate.
