The journal Economia y Administracion (E&A) of the Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Administrativas (FACEA) of the University of Concepción, is a biannual scientific publication. It publishes and promotes scientific production in economics and business administration. E&A was first published in 1964. At present, E&A is one of the oldest traditional journals among the existing publications in economics and administration edited in Chile.

The target audience of E&A includes mainly, although not exclusively, the scientific and professional community interested in research in the areas of economics and business administration. The Journal keeps exchanges with about 100 different academics institutions devoted to research, libraries, and editing companies of journals in Latin America, North America and Europe.

The articles published by E&A are chosen after a strict peer review process. The basic judgement for the evaluation and publication of articles is the originality, relevance, and importance of the topic, the contribution to the creation of knew knowledge and the methodology used. Since 1964 and until 2004, E&A has published about 240 articles.

The direction and administration of E&A is in charge of a Director, an Editorial Board, and an Assistant Director. The Director and the Assistant Director are faculty members of the Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Administrativas of the Universidad de Concepción. Their tasks include to coordinate the process of selection of articles, and to oversee the process of publication of each number of the journal. The Editorial Board has nine members, all of them well known researchers who develop their activities in prestigious universities of the United States, Europe and Chile.
