My personal interests include sports (mainly Soccer and Tennis) that I practice every week with my friends and colleagues at the Universidad de Concepcion.  I like to waste my (scarce) free time trying new things at the computer and also playing with technological toys (even when my budget constraints are always binding).   I also enjoy taking my kids to local parks.  In Concepcion, our favorites are "Parque Alessandri" and "Parque Lota".  And I also like movies but I can't never remember their names!  I used to play the guitar and I tried to learn to play classical guitar and piano, but I never had the time to do it seriously.

This is an historical picture of my soccer team in Berkeley, where I was the goalkeeper and also the coach.  Our team was based on Chilean players (Carlos, Juan Carlos, Arturo, Luis, Andres and me), but there are also two Argentinians (Matias and Lucas) , one Brazilian (Andrei) and one Spanish (Fernando).  After three seasons playing well in the Berkeley league and loosing in quarterfinal or semifinals, we finally make our way to the final and obtained the championship.  This will surely be one of my "best accomplishments" in Berkeley given that our average age was over 30 and we usually play against undergrads/grads in a much much better physical shape.  But our experience, technique and good tactics lead us to win the cup.  The name of our team was "The Villanos", inspired in that most of us lived in the Berkeley University Village for graduates students.
