Ecology, Biogeography & Systematics

ECOBIOSIS is the Reseach Group on Ecology and Biogeography of Natural and Oceanographic Faculty at University of Concepción, Chile. ECOBIOSIS also belongs to Ecology and Biodiversity Institute, IEB.

Mission of ECOBIOSIS is developing research at the highest level, in the following topics:

• Biogeography
• Ecology
• Ecophisiology
• Sistematics

Our main objective is to study patterns of species distribution along natural gradients, in order to determine the main factors involved and to get a better understanding of the potential consequences of climate change.

We use a series of observational and experimental approaches in different ecosystems, but our main focus is high-mountain ecosystems and altitudinal gradients.

The Research Group on Ecology and Biogeography of Faculty of Natural Sciences and Oceanography at the University of Concepción, ECOBIOSIS, is a group associated with The Biological Invasions Laboratory at the Faculty of Forestry, University of Concepción (LIB).
