DAVID OPAZO is a marine biology student. His undergraduate thesis will be focused in the seasonal strength of the mixotrophic protozoan / zooplankton link in river and non-river influenced continental shelves. Most field and experimental activities will be developed during the field campaigns in Coliumo Bay and Itata River mouth during the development of the FONDECYT PROJECT 1060709. Laboratory Skills - Phytoplankton and microbial analysis under inverted and epifluorescence microscopy. - Zooplankton identification and mesozooplankton biomass estimations - Experience with live animals plankton experiments - Mesozooplankton grazing experiments by bottle incubations with dominant grazers.
