TG-FTIR Ethanol evaporation

This picture shows the 3D FTIR spectrum of ethanol. The sample was loaded onto the TGA apparatus and heated slowly in a nitrogen atmosphere. As the temperature increased the peak intensity attributed to ethanol also increased, because the evaporation rate is enhanced. We can follow this evolution to measure concentration of any compound IR-detectable.

Mass spectrum scan of Cobalt Acetate Decomposition

This animation shows a mass spectrum scan of the gaseous products of cobalt acetate decomposition in an inert atmosphere (Helium). At the beggining, the mass loss curve is shown indicating the inflection points, and then the mass spectrum scan up to 420ºC.
