Biotechnology Forum

The objective of this special number of I+D, edited especially for the Global Biotechnology Forum, is to present a glimpse of the capacities and competences that the Universidad de Concepcion possesses in Biotechnology, particularly for the important national and international visitors who will participate in this important event.

With this goal in mind, this special edition includes information about the different projects being developed in the area of Biotechnology together with a description of the Biotechnology Center and an interview with the Chancellor of the Universidad de Concepción. The convening of this Forum in the city of Concepción, like the implementation of biotechnological projects, makes clear that the development of Biotechnology – impelled by the Region - is a result of the application of coherent policies, in which diverse actors contribute resolutely so that this discipline can grow strongly and dynamically in our Region, with its consequent impact on the economic and social well-being of the community.
